Teacher and student

Teacher Aide Pre-Apprenticeship

Open to grades 9 through 12.

Prepare for the Teacher Aide Apprenticeship with college credit dual enrollment courses leading to an Educational Aide Certificate.

Program Details: Up to 16 units of college credit, dual enrollment, leading to an Educational Aide Certificate.

Teacher Aide

Teacher Aide Apprenticeship

Open to students age 18 and older. Must pass a Live Scan screening to be able to work in schools.

Work in K-12 schools, get paid on-the-job training, and earn an Associate Degree from PCC.

Employer: Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD)
Program Duration: 60 credit units leading to an Associate Degree of choice.
Program Details: Apprentices will work in PUSD K-12 schools, receiving paid on-the-job training and free PCC coursework.
Program Start Term: Fall 2024

Culinary Arts

Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management Apprenticeship

PCC's CAHM Apprenticeship program trains Cooks, Pastry Cooks, Culinary Managers, and Hospitality Managers to gain meaningful employment in these dynamic, fast-paced industries. 

Program Duration: 1 year
Program Details: Apprentices receive paid on-the-job training in restaurants, hotels, and other food-service institutions. All associated credit classes are tuition-free and lead to educational certificates.
Program Start Term: Spring 2025

EV Charger

EV Charger Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship

Learn how to maintain electric vehicle charging stations. Take ​​PCC courses leading to EVSE certification and entry into the growing field of EV infrastructure support.

Program Duration: 1 year, depending on prior experience
Program Details: PCC EV Charger Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship courses prepare apprentices for EVSE certification and entry into the growing field of EV infrastructure support.
Program Start Term: The program is full for 2024-25. The next cohort will start in Fall 2025.

Virtual Production Assistant Apprenticeship

Take PCC courses combined with paid on-the-job training focused on cutting-edge virtual sound stage technology used in film and television.

Program Duration: 1 - 2 years, depending on prior experience
Program Details: Through a combination of PCC coursework and paid on-the-job training focused on cutting-edge, virtual sound stage technology used in today's film and television, apprentices will be equipped with the latest production skills required for employment in this highly competitive job market.

Sterile Technician

Central Sterile Processing Technician Apprenticeship

Central Sterile Processing Technicians are integral to the safe and efficient operation of hospitals and surgical centers. CSPTs ensure surgical instruments are sterilized and available to doctors and nurses in medical offices or the operating room. 

Program Duration: 1 year
Program Details: This program prepares apprentices for employment as Central Sterile Processing Technicians. Tuition-free courses are aligned with the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA). The apprenticeship program includes 400 fieldwork hours required for certification. 
Paid On-the-Job Training: Apprentices will work with an experienced mentor to complete their on-the-job in a hospital or medical center.
Requirements: Open to students 18 and older. Must pass health screening and Live Scan to be able to work in a medical environment.
Anticipated Program Start Term: Fall 2025
